Softball Recap: West Milford Takes a Loss

West Milford was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 9-4 to the Wayne Valley Indians. The Highlanders were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Indians earlier this season, when they won 4-3.

Cassy Rubinsky was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.

West Milford's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Wayne Valley, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Milford will host Wayne Hills at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Patriots have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.08 runs per game on average), something the Highlanders will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Wayne Valley, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Fair Lawn at 4:15 p.m.
