Basketball Recap: Royal Live Oaks Academy Comes Up Short

Royal Live Oaks Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were dealt a 68-0 loss at the hands of the Denmark-Olar Vikings.

Denmark-Olar's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Zyria McMillian, who posted 14 points and five steals. The dominant performance gave McMillian a new career-high in points. Amoria Wright was another key player, putting up 11 points in addition to six boards and six steals.

Royal Live Oaks Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Denmark-Olar, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-2.

Royal Live Oaks Academy will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Bamberg-Ehrhardt at 6:30 p.m. on January 28th. As for Denmark-Olar, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 52-37 defeat against North Augusta on the 18th.
