Baseball Recap: St. Mary Extends Home Winning Streak to Eight

There's no place like home for St. Mary, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Rutherford Bulldogs 3-1. The victory continues a trend for the Gaels in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won four in a row.

St. Mary pushed their record up to 17-10 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.9 runs over those games. As for Rutherford, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-7.

Looking ahead, St. Mary will venture away from home to challenge St. Joseph Regional at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Rutherford does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
