Softball Recap: Lewis County Lions vs. Russell Red Devils
Lewis County played in-conference for the first time on Monday and got just the result they were looking for. They came out on top against the Russell Red Devils by a score of 12-7. This was a revenge game for the Lions: when they faced off against the Red Devils back in March, they had to take a 15-6 loss.

Jerra Lucas was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Kaylen Case was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three runs and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Myla Clark was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs.
Lewis County hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in six consecutive matchups.
Lewis County now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Russell, they dropped their record down to 6-12 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
