            Baseball Preview: Latin Romans vs. St. Laurence Vikings        
        
		
        
        
            The Latin Romans will venture away from home to  square off against the St. Laurence Vikings  at 4:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Latin comes in on four and St. Laurence on nine.
Latin is headed in fresh off scoring the most  runs they have   all season. They put the hurt on North Shore Country Day with a sharp  12-1 win on Monday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Romans with their most commanding win of the  season.
 Jackson Darke made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out seven batters over  five innings while giving up just one earned run off   two  hits (and only one walk). Darke was also solid in the batter's box,  going 1-for-3 with two  runs and two  RBI. That's the most  RBI  he has posted since back in May of 2024.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  John Rose, who  went a perfect 4-for-4 with three  runs, three  RBI,  and one  double. Another player making a difference was  Drew Lufrano, who  went 1-for-3 with four  RBI, one  stolen base,  and one  double.
 Meanwhile, St. Laurence made easy work of Homewood-Flossmoor  on Saturday and carried off  a  12-2 victory. The result was nothing new for St. Laurence, who have now won nine matches by six  runs or more  so far this season.
 St. Laurence pushed their record up to 13-3 with the  win, which was their sixth straight  at home. The  home  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Latin, their record is now 6-1.
