Softball Recap: Ballston Spa Scotties vs. Columbia Blue Devils
Ballston Spa fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Columbia on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Blue Devils by a score of 2-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Scotties of the 1-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.
Makayla LaRose spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits.
At the plate, Ballston Spa saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Livia Wiltsie, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.
