Volleyball Recap: Gunn Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Gunn suffered their biggest loss since September 2nd on Wednesday. They came up short against the Cupertino Pioneers, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pioneers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in September.

While Gunn was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Cupertino's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-11, 25-15, 28-26.

Elizabeth Tanriverdi paced Gunn's offense, picking up 13 kills. Tanriverdi got some help from Audra Yuan and her 27 assists. Yuan was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

The defeat snapped Gunn's winning streak at three matches and leaves them with a 15-10 record. As for Cupertino, they are on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 17 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season.

Gunn will face off against Aragon at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Cupertino, they have already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against King's Academy on the 9th.
