League recap: Delaware County Christian rises in state rank

Delaware County Christian scaled the state rankings by moving to 306 from 347 this week, the biggest jump in Bicentennial. The Knights were able to move up by besting Lower Moreland 26-13.

Jenkintown lost to Bristol 41-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.

The Warriors' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Trevor Leone threw for 96 and 1 touchdown and Tyriq Wilson had 71 yards receiving. On the ground Donte Simmons contributed 138 yards. Ryan Rigby helped Bristol's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 40 yards.

Simmons was a passing and rushing force as Bristol bested the Drakes. Simmons' favorite target this week was Wilson, who caught 2 passes for 71 yards.

Simmons was the best running back in the league this week. In 8 carries, he ran for 138 yards as Leo Plenski's team defeated Jenkintown. Derrick Jackson also contributed to the rushing game with 32 yards on the ground.

Bristol's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Warriors feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Leone has thrown for 838 yards and 10 touchdowns this season, while Wilson has 11 catches for 273 yards.

The Warriors' Simmons is a mere 36 yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season. In 96 carries Simmons has put up 964 yards this year.

An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Calvary Christian Academy takes on New Hope-Solebury. At the moment, the Cougars are in sixth, while New Hope-Solebury is in first.

Bristol led Bicentennial in scoring this week after putting up 41 points on Anthony Owens' team. Simmons during the win.
