Haleyville had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.1 runs) and they went ahead and made it eight on Friday. Everything went their way against the Jasper Vikings as they made off with a 9-2 victory. The Lions have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Vikings, too.

Evan Cagle was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Cooper McNutt, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Haleyville pushed their record up to 11-6 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Jasper, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-9 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Haleyville will welcome West End at 9:00 a.m. on Monday. As for Jasper, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Sweet Water at 2:00 p.m.
