The Fike Demons are taking a road trip to face off against the Southern Wayne Saints at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Fike will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line.
Last Tuesday, Fike made easy work of East Wake and carried off a 58-32 win. The Demons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 26 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Jamaria Freeman, who went 11 of 25 on her way to 25 points and eight boards. The contest was her eighth in a row with at least ten points. Jewel Brewington was another key player, putting up 14 points and five rebounds.
Fike smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Southern Wayne didn't have quite enough to beat South Johnston on Wednesday and fell 44-41.
Fike will need focus on slowing down Nevaeh Hines-Bass, one of several Southern Wayne players who made an impact when they last played. She went 7 for 16 en route to 18 points. That was a full 43.9% of Southern Wayne's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Azariah Jordan, who earned seven points and three steals.
Southern Wayne has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. As for Fike, they pushed their record up to 13-0 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home.
Friday's matchup is shaping up to be a scrappy contest: Fike has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 25 rebounds per game. It's a different story for Southern Wayne, though, as they've been averaging only 12.4 boards. Given Fike's sizable advantage in that area, Southern Wayne will need to find a way to close that gap.
Fike took their win against Southern Wayne in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 46-25. Does Fike have another victory up their sleeve, or will Southern Wayne turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
