It was a Battle of the Birds when Spruce Creek duked it out with Fleming Island on Friday. The Hawks fell 2-0 to the Golden Eagles. The Hawks' defeat signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

Despite the loss, Spruce Creek still got an impressive performance from Evelyn Webb, who had three digs and two aces. Logan Milan also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Spruce Creek's loss dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Fleming Island, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-4.
