Softball Game Preview: Terre Haute North Vigo Patriots vs. Martinsville Artesians

The Terre Haute North Vigo Patriots will face off against the Martinsville Artesians at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Terre Haute North Vigo is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Terre Haute South Vigo with a sharp 18-8 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Patriots.

Meanwhile, Martinsville got the win against Bloomington North on Tuesday by a conclusive 9-1. The Artesians haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Martinsville got a great performance from Destiny Forler as she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Forler has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Nacey Dickinson, who went 2-for-3 with two triples, three RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. Ahvay Scholl was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.

Terre Haute North Vigo's record is now 24-6. As for Martinsville, their record now sits at 14-16.
