Basketball Recap: Udall Takes a Loss

Udall was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They took a blow against the Central Raiders, falling 61-22. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 333rd, while the Raiders are ranked 140th).

Udall's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jordan Hornecker, who posted ten points and eight rebounds. Those eight boards gave Hornecker a new career-high. Logan Mason was another key player, putting up six points and eight rebounds.

Udall's record now sits at 3-14. As for Central, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-1-1 record this season.

Coming up, Udall will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Oxford at 7:00 p.m. Oxford has insisted on making their last three contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 2-1 during that stretch of close contests. Central has already played their next game (against Dexter), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
