Basketball Recap: Aquinas Comes Up Short

Aquinas played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 58-20 defeat at the hands of the Baldwin Braves. The loss continues a trend for the Fightin' Irish in their meetings with the Braves: they've now lost four in a row.

It was another big night for Suri Clark, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and ten rebounds for Baldwin. Clark is becoming a predictor of the Braves' success: when she posts at least ten boards the team is 11-3 (and 4-6 when she doesn't). Trinia Lawrence was another key player, putting up nine points and five assists.

Aquinas' defeat dropped their record down to 6-18. As for Baldwin, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season.

Aquinas will challenge Georgia Military College at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Baldwin, they have already played their next matchup, a 52-34 loss against Washington County on the 7th.
