Basketball Game Preview: Sangamon Valley/Tri-City Storm vs. Auburn Trojans

Sangamon Valley/Tri-City is 2-8 against Auburn since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Sangamon Valley/Tri-City Storm will head out on the road to square off against the Auburn Trojans at 7:15 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Sangamon Valley/Tri-City lost 58-33 to Williamsville on Monday. The Storm were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-11.

Meanwhile, Auburn was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Monday as they fell 71-65 to Gillespie. The Trojans have struggled against the Miners recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Auburn's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Sangamon Valley/Tri-City, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.

Sangamon Valley/Tri-City was taken down by Auburn 48-11 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Can Sangamon Valley/Tri-City avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
