Softball Recap: Vidalia Vikings vs. Harrisonburg Bulldogs
Vidalia lost against Harrisonburg back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Vikings fell 15-10 to the Bulldogs. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Kinsley LeBlanc was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She pitched seven innings while giving up just two earned (and 13 unearned) runs off nine hits. LeBlanc was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.
In other batting news, Piper Weatherly was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring four runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. Ali Welch was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in two of her five plate appearances.
Vidalia's loss dropped their record down to 7-15. As for Harrisonburg, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Vidalia will challenge Grace Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Harrisonburg, they will face off against Monterey at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs are facing the Wolves at the right time seeing as the Wolves are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
