Baseball Recap: Turner Ashby Gets the Win

It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Turner Ashby ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 victory over the East Rockingham Eagles. This was a revenge game for the Knights: when they faced off against the Eagles last Tuesday, they had to take a 4-2 loss.

Turner Ashby got a great performance from Tyler Hill as he tossed seven innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Grady Bowman, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Brady Spotts, who went 2-for-5 with two runs and one double.

Turner Ashby's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 13-7. As for East Rockingham, they moved to 13-4 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

As of now, neither Turner Ashby nor the Eagles have any future games scheduled.
