Basketball Recap: Reno Takes a Loss

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Reno couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell 51-44 to the Legacy Longhorns on Saturday. The Huskies were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Longhorns apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2017.

Trista Mabry was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 17 points and 13 rebounds for Legacy. Mabry has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more boards the last 21 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Laila Gines, who posted eight points along with six rebounds and four steals.

Reno's defeat dropped their record down to 24-5. As for Legacy, they are on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 17 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-7 record this season.

As of now, neither Reno nor Legacy have any future games scheduled.
