Basketball Recap: Jayden Stout's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Blooming Grove over Maypearl

Blooming Grove was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 71-60 to the Maypearl Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 66-43 back in January.

Blooming Grove's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jayden Stout, who posted nine points. What's more, Stout also posted a 67% field goal percentage, which is the highest he's posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Braydon Reed, who had eight points and nine boards.

Blooming Grove's loss dropped their record down to 10-17. As for Maypearl, their win bumped their record up to 7-25.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Scurry-Rosser the next time they take the court. Maypearl will head out to face Scurry-Rosser at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while Blooming Grove will host them at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
