Softball Recap: Open Door Christian Patriots vs. Grand Valley Mustangs

After flying high against Trinity last Monday, Open Door Christian came back down to earth. The Open Door Christian Patriots lost 19-6 to the Grand Valley Mustangs on Wednesday.

Open Door Christian saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Amylia Citron, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1. Citron is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now stolen at least one in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lily Perris, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Open Door Christian's loss dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Grand Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a massive bump to their 8-10 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Open Door Christian will square off against Lakewood at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Grand Valley, they will head out on the road to take on Edgewood at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
