Soccer Recap: Lehi Takes a Loss

Lehi lost against Pleasant Grove back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. While the 3-3 score might suggest a draw, it was the Vikings who were credited with the win. The Pleasant Grove Vikings got it done in the shootout by posting one goals to the Lehi Pioneers' zero. While losing is never fun, Lehi can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah soccer rankings (they are ranked 42nd, while Pleasant Grove are ranked fourth).

Gavin Richards and Bode Hammond scored all three of Lehi's goals, bringing their combined season tally to seven goals.

Lehi's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Pleasant Grove, their record now sits at 9-2.

Coming up, Lehi will look to defend their home pitch on Wednesday against Westlake at 7:00 p.m. As for Pleasant Grove, they will square off against American Fork at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Pleasant Grove's defense better be ready for this one: American Fork have averaged an impressive 4.2 goals per game this season.
