Recap: Carlson Marauders vs. Churchill Chargers
The Carlson Marauders had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28.9 points), and they went ahead and made it nine on Friday. They walked away with a 42-35 win over Churchill. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Carlson's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Joe Krolak, who threw for 140 yards and four touchdowns, and also rushed for 125 yards. Izaiah Wright was another key contributor, rushing for 157 yards and two touchdowns.
Carlson's win was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 9-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 41.0 points per game. As for Churchill, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.
Carlson will play host again and welcome Dexter, where Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Churchill does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
