Basketball Game Preview: Wando Warriors vs. Ridge View Blazers

The Wando Warriors will face off against the Ridge View Blazers at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Ridge View will be up against a hot Wando team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. Wando blew past Stratford, posting a 68-37 victory. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 21st, while the Knights are ranked 119th), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Isabel Waite was her usual excellent self, going 9-for-12 en route to 23 points along with five rebounds and three steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 19 games she's played. Makenna Reynolds was another key player, going 6-for-12 to rack up 17 points.

Wando was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in December of 2024.

Meanwhile, it's playoff time, and Ridge View had no trouble coming through when it counted. They claimed a resounding 85-21 win over Stall. The Blazers' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Ridge View's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-8. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.0 points over those games. As for Wando, their win bumped their record up to 21-4.
