Softball Recap: River Valley Find Success

River Valley won the last time they faced Michigan Lutheran and things went their way on Monday too. The Mustangs came out on top against the Titans by a score of 7-3. The game was the first time the Mustangs have beaten the Titans on their field since May 31, 2022.

Greta Vollma spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on six hits.

On the hitting side, Addy Lynch was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and one triple. That's the most hits she has posted over her last 11 games. The team also got some help courtesy of Johnna Rochefort, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one double.

River Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .412. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Michigan Lutheran only posted a batting average of .241.

The victory made it two in a row for River Valley and bumps their season record up to 15-10. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Michigan Lutheran, they dropped their record down to 11-14 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Titans beat River Valley by a score of 12-1 later that day.
