Basketball Recap: Bella Vista Takes a Loss

Bella Vista was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 67-50 to the Christian Brothers Falcons. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Falcons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 63-49 back in January.

When it comes to explaining why Bella Vista lost, don't look at Cade Rucker. Despite the final result, he went 6-for-12 on his way to 15 points and seven boards. Mark Otrotsyuk was another key player, going 5-for-10 to rack up 13 points.

Christian Brothers' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Daniel Powers, who dropped a triple-double with ten points, 11 rebounds, and ten assists. The dominant performance gave Powers a new career-high in assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Stephan Hewitt, who posted 17 points and eight boards.

Bella Vista's defeat dropped their record down to 9-17. As for Christian Brothers, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 21-6 record this season.

Bella Vista didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 53-43 loss against Woodcreek on the 12th. As for Christian Brothers, they will challenge Rio Americano at 7:30 p.m. on February 14th. Christian Brothers is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.7 points per game this season.
