Recap: Connally Cadets vs. Salado Eagles

The Connally Cadets fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They took down Salado 39-21 on Friday. Given Connally's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 231st, while Salado is ranked 569th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Connally found their leader in underclassman Jamarion Vincent, who threw for 117 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 passes. Ke'Are Riley made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brendan Wilson, who picked up 107 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Connally's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Salado, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Madisonville the next time they take the field. Connally will host Madisonville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while Salado will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd.
