Softball Recap: Eastern Guilford Has No Trouble Against High Point Central

Eastern Guilford got themselves on the board against High Point Central on Tuesday, but High Point Central never followed suit. They blew past the Bison 6-0. The win continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Bison: they've now won eight in a row.

Kamryn Permar made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 18 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Alyssa Moore, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Eastern Guilford hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as High Point Central struck out 17 times.

The victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 5-6. As for High Point Central, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.

Eastern Guilford has already played their next matchup, a 15-0 defeat against Roxboro Community on the 2nd. As for High Point Central, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 17-1 loss against South Davidson on the 2nd.
