It was fun while it lasted, but Ferguson's undefeated season came to an end after seven games on Friday. They fell just short of the Palmetto Panthers by a score of 50-48. The matchup marked the Falcons' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Ferguson's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sophia Diaz, who posted 15 points and three steals. The contest was Diaz's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ivette Fernandez, who put up 13 points in addition to six boards and three steals.

Palmetto's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alessandra Falcon, who went 7 of 12 on her way to 18 points and seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ashley Alavardo, who had nine points in addition to five assists and three steals.

Having lost for the first time this season, Ferguson fell to 7-1. As for Palmetto, their record is now 2-3.

Ferguson will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Gateway Charter at 10:30 a.m. on January 2, 2025. Palmetto and Homestead will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Homestead is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.9 points per game this season.
