Basketball Recap: Gary Grear's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Pine Lake Prep over Lincoln Charter

Pine Lake Prep was the 62-57 winner over Lincoln Charter when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Pine Lake Prep Pride took a hard 69-55 fall against the Lincoln Charter Eagles on Thursday. The matchup marked the Pride's lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Pine Lake Prep's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gary Grear, who posted 17 points and seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Joseph Bruce, who put up 12 points.

Krishtan Flowers was a one-man wrecking crew for Lincoln Charter as he went 7 of 12 on his way to 25 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Braydon Walden, who had ten points and seven rebounds.

Pine Lake Prep's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 11-3. As for Lincoln Charter, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-5.

Pine Lake Prep will square off against Langtree Charter Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Pine Lake Prep's favor as the squad sits on five straight wins at home while Langtree Charter Academy has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road. As for Lincoln Charter, they will take on Combine Academy Global at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Lincoln Charter's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
