Hudson DeVaughan put up the most strikeouts he's had over his last four games on Wednesday. He struck out ten batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits. He was dominant the last time he took on Plainfield back in May of 2024, so they probably should've seen this coming.
Even though DeVaughan couldn't lead Mooresville over Plainfield, he won't have to wait long to try again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Pioneers are 8-1 against the Quakers going back to May of 2021, a lead they'll look to extend.
