Baseball Game Preview: West Florida Jaguars vs. Suwannee Bulldogs

For the second straight game, West Florida will face off against Suwannee. The Jaguars will welcome the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (West Florida 3.3, Suwannee 3) so any runs scored will be well earned.

West Florida heads in on the heels of a playoff contest on Monday. They fell 5-2 to Suwannee. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, the Jaguars couldn't push the score so high this time.

Jordan Hosman was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed six innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, West Florida saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Adam Geiger, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Suwannee's win was their ninth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 22-7. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for West Florida, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 24-5.
