Basketball Recap: Crespi Piles Up the Points Against Mater Dei

After losing to Mater Dei the last time they met, Crespi decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Celts blew past the Monarchs 90-59 on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Celts.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Crespi to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cayman Martin, who went 9-for-17 en route to 21 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. Isaiah Barnes was another key player, shooting 73% from the field on his way to 23 points.

Several Monarchs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Richie Ramirez, who posted 26 points and six boards. Another player making a difference was Malloy Smith, who had 12 points.

Crespi's record is now 2-0.

Crespi has already played their next game, an 84-68 win against Golden Valley on the 25th. As for Mater Dei, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 73-71 loss against Morton on the 26th.
