Softball Recap: East Syracuse-Minoa Has No Trouble Against Westhill

East Syracuse-Minoa lost to Westhill back in April of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Spartans blew past the Warriors 9-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Spartans.

Ava Meyer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on nine hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Sophie Banach was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Madelin Marquart was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

East Syracuse-Minoa was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

East Syracuse-Minoa's victory bumped their record up to 6-10. As for Westhill, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.

East Syracuse-Minoa didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 3-1 defeat against Oswego on the 20th. As for Westhill, they have also already played their next matchup, a 13-7 win against Jordan-Elbridge on the 20th.
