It was a good run, but South Charlotte unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They lost 66-46 to the South Wake Sabres. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Thunder of the 61-47 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Several Thunder players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mason Kern, who posted 12 points. Jack Porter was another key player, going 5-for-11 en route to 12 points and six boards.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead South Wake to victory, but perhaps none more so than Noah Wright, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 14 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Wright a new career-high in boards. Another player making a difference was Eli Jones, who put up 14 points.

South Charlotte's defeat dropped their record down to 14-20. As for South Wake, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 28-9 record this season.

South Charlotte didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 78-52 loss against KACHEA on the 7th. As for South Wake, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 64-59 win against Greater Cabarrus S on the 7th.
