Football Recap: Palmetto Ridge Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Palmetto Ridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Southwest Florida Christian King and fell 49-14. The Bears were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-8.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Southwest Florida Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Austin Hill, who threw for 341 yards and four TDs while picking up 13.6 yards per attempt. Those 341 passing yards gave Hill a new career-high. Southwest Florida Christian's leading receiver Terrence Simmons was Hill's top target yet again, picking up 194 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Palmetto Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Palmetto Ridge will face off against Ida Baker at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Southwest Florida Christian, they will square off against Sarasota Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Blazers will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the King's surely won't give up without a fight.
