Football Game Preview: Kenedy Lions vs. Flatonia Bulldogs

The Kenedy Lions will face off against the Flatonia Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

It was a proper cat-fight when Kenedy took on Danbury on Friday. The Lions simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Panthers 51-6. With the Lions ahead 32-6 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Kenedy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was David Salas, who rushed for 265 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 9.8 yards per carry. Those 265 rushing yards gave Salas a new career-high. Another receiver making a difference was Karsen Reyes, who picked up 124 receiving yards and three touchdowns.

Kenedy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Isiah Morin and Joel Garcia. Morin got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, after only ten points in their last contest, Flatonia made sure to put some points up on the board against Danbury last Friday. The Bulldogs were the clear victors by a 32-12 margin over the Panthers. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.

Flatonia's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Kenedy, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.

Kenedy strolled past Flatonia when the teams last played back in October of 2024 by a score of 63-45. Will the Lions repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
