Recap: Madill Wildcats vs. Lone Grove Longhorns
The Madill Wildcats had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.9 points), and they went ahead and made it nine on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 37-34 victory over Lone Grove. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Madill has scored all year.
Brylan James was his usual excellent self, scoring 23 points. Another player making a difference was Ethan Wilkerson, who scored five points along with four blocks.
Madill pushed their record up to 17-1 with that victory, which was their 21st straight at home dating back to last season. As for Lone Grove, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Madill will square off against Dickson at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Dickson will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Oklahoma Rankings (they are ranked 336th, while Madill is ranked 11th). As for Lone Grove, they will head out on the road to face off against Byng at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
