Volleyball Recap: Caprock Academy Picks Up Sixth Straight Win at Home + How To Watch

Caprock Academy proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by three) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the West Grand Mustangs 3-2. For the Eagles, this counts as revenge for the 3-2 victory the Mustangs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2024.

Caprock Academy was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (101-100), but they still managed to win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 18-25, 25-15, 17-25, 25-23, 15-13.

Caprock Academy found their leader in freshman Tiara Gonzalez Cardenas, who had seven assists and six digs.

Caprock Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in nine consecutive matchups.

Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jadyn Castillo, who had 11 digs and one assist.

Caprock Academy's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-5. As for West Grand, their loss dropped their record down to 14-7.
