Sophomore sensation helps No. 1 Montverde Academy advance in Fort Myers.

Currently ranked No. 1 nationally by MaxPreps, Montverde Academy (Fla.) has won two of the last three titles at the City of Palms Classic.

Sophomore Silvio de Sousa did his part in helping the Eagles advance toward their fourth-straight championship game in a first-round win over Spain Park (Hoover, Ala.) on Saturday.

Regarded as the No. 2 overall prospect in the 2018 class by 247Sports, de Sousa scored 12 points and grabbed eight rebounds in his City of Palms debut despite playing less than a quarter of actual clock time.
