Basketball Recap: Tesla Turley's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Virginia City over Coleville

Virginia City was the 44-28 winner over Coleville when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Virginia City Muckers took a 48-32 bruising from the Coleville Wolves on Friday. The Muckers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Virginia City lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Tesla Turley, who posted 11 points. Kaiya Krum was another key player, putting up 12 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals.

Coleville was led to victory by Kenna Lange and Ashley Tovar. Lange dropped a double-double on 18 points and 16 boards, while Tovar almost dropped a triple-double on 14 points, ten rebounds, and nine steals. That's the most boards Tovar has posted since back in December of 2024.

Virginia City's defeat dropped their record down to 15-10. As for Coleville, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 10-11 record this season.

Virginia City didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 72-19 loss against Pyramid Lake on the 8th. As for Coleville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 51-40 defeat against Smith Valley on the 8th.
