Baseball Recap: Tularosa Extends Home Winning Streak to 14

There's no place like home for Tularosa, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. Everything went their way against the Hot Springs Tigers on Wednesday as they made off with an 18-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won seven matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Daniel Yuzos was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Tayton Bridge, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Fabian Pacheco was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Tularosa was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .433. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Tularosa pushed their record up to 14-7 with the victory, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Hot Springs, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-14-1 record this season.
