Softball Recap: Holden Takes a Loss

Holden was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the French Settlement Lions. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-3 back in March.

Holden's loss dropped their record down to 11-11. As for French Settlement, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Holden will take on Pope John Paul II at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for French Settlement, they will challenge Live Oak at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Lions surely won't give up without a fight.
