Football Game Preview: Kingfisher Yellowjackets vs. Lone Grove Longhorns + Official Tickets

Kingfisher has gone a perfect 3-0 against Lone Grove recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Yellowjackets will face off against the Longhorns at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Kingfisher beat Plainview 30-26.

Kingfisher got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kasen Blair out in front who picked up 106 receiving yards and one TD. Those 106 receiving yards gave Blair a new career-high. Kingfisher also got a significant boost from Brett Calamateo, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 120 yards.

Another reason for the win was Kingfisher's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Cale Reagan refused to say out of the backfield, picking up two sacks all by himself. Another thorn in Plainview's side was Reagan, who picked up two sacks and made eight total tackles (4.0 for loss).

Meanwhile, Lone Grove entered their tilt with Bristow on Friday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They had just enough and edged out the Pirates 23-21.

Kingfisher's record is now 7-3. As for Lone Grove, their record now sits at 6-4.

Kingfisher barely slipped by Lone Grove when the teams last played back in November of 2022, winning 28-27. Do the Yellowjackets have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Longhorns turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
