The Troy Trojans will head out to face off against the McGregor Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 937 yards in their previous games.
Troy will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up seven points last Friday, then bounced right back against Rockdale on Friday. The Trojans enjoyed a cozy 45-26 win over the Tigers. The Trojans pushed the score to 45-20 by the end of the third, a deficit the Tigers cut but never quite recovered from.

Jayden Lucky produced another solid performance rushing for 319 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 15.2 yards per carry. His rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his tenth straight game with at least 120 rushing yards dating back to last season.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Troy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 388 rushing yards. They are 3-1 when they've run for more than 200 yards.
Troy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off five passes before the game was over. Nick Basile led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself. He also made seven total tackles, which is notable because Troy is 4-2 when he posts at least three total tackles, but 1-2 otherwise. Another thorn in Rockdale's side was Grayson Bogausch, who made 16 total tackles (2.0 for loss).
Meanwhile, McGregor was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 56-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Little River Academy. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 912th, while the Bumblebees are ranked 452nd).
Troy will have to contain Bubba Zacharias as he made an impact in McGregor's last game. He rushed for 160 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 8.0 yards per carry, and also threw for 171 yards and two touchdowns. Dominic Madron was in the mix too, providing McGregor with two scores.
Troy now has a winning record of 5-4. As for McGregor, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.
We should be in store for an exciting game as the two teams have no problem gaining yardage. Troy has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 401.8 total yards per game. However, it's not like McGregor struggles in that department as they've been averaging 351.2 total yards. With a pair of commanding offenses duking it out, the defenses are going to have their work cut out for them.
Everything went Troy's way against McGregor when the teams last played back in November of 2024, as Troy made off with a 60-37 victory. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Zacharias, who threw for 334 yards and three TDs, and also rushed for 31 yards and one score. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will the Trojans still be able to contain Zacharias? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
