Basketball Recap: Charles J. Colgan Comes Up Short

After flying high against Forest Park last Friday, Charles J. Colgan came back down to earth. The Charles J. Colgan Sharks were dealt a 68-40 loss at the hands of the James Monroe Yellow Jackets on Monday. The Sharks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Yellow Jackets apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Charles J. Colgan now has a losing record at 2-3. As for James Monroe, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Charles J. Colgan won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Centreville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Centreville knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Charles J. Colgan likes a good challenge. James Monroe and Armstrong will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in James Monroe's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
