Softball Game Preview: Hart County Raiders vs. Metcalfe County Hornets

Hart County is 8-2 against Metcalfe County since May of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Raiders will challenge the Hornets at 5:30 p.m. Hart County's hitters haven't had much luck over their past four games, but Wednesday's matchup will give them a chance to turn things around.

Hart County came into this matchup off a tough six-run defeat on Monday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Campbellsville by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Meanwhile, after soaring to ten runs the game before, Metcalfe County was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They came up short against Adair County, falling 16-1. The Hornets have struggled against the Indians recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Metcalfe County saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emma Groce, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run.

Metcalfe County's loss dropped their record down to 6-12-1. As for Hart County, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-17.

Everything went Hart County's way against Metcalfe County in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as Hart County made off with a 23-3 victory. Do the Raiders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hornets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
