Yellow Medicine East won the last time they faced Lakeview and things went their way on Thursday too. The Sting put the hurt on the Lakers with a sharp 12-4 victory. With that win, the Sting brought their scoring average up to 7.2 runs per game.

Bayli Sneller made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That double marked the first that she has hit this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Alana Almich, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That stolen base was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brianna Nelson, who went 2-for-5 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Yellow Medicine East kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

The victory made it two in a row for Yellow Medicine East and bumps their season record up to 3-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Lakeview, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Yellow Medicine East will head out to face off against Lac qui Parle Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Sting 3.2, the Eagles 3.4) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Lakeview, they will head out on the road to square off against Murray County Central at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
