Russell had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 35.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They claimed a resounding 42-0 victory over the Bath County Wildcats. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Red Devils' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky football rankings (they are ranked 65th, while the Wildcats are ranked 208th).

Kaiden Benge had a dynamite game, rushing for 24 yards and three touchdowns. Those three rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Jayden Pennington also deserves a mention for his punt return touchdown.

Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 12 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Pennington, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

Russell's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Bath County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-6.

Coming up, Russell will take on East Carter at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Red Devils will need to watch out since the Raiders have now posted at least 31 points in their last seven games. As for Bath County, they will challenge Fleming County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats will be up against the Panthers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 32.63 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
