Baseball Game Preview: Harmony Area Owls vs. Purchase Line Red Dragons

The Harmony Area Owls will square off against the Purchase Line Red Dragons at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Harmony Area will be strutting in after a win while Purchase Line will be coming in after a defeat.

Harmony Area is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They walked away with a 7-3 victory over Shanksville Stonycreek on Thursday.

Parker Maseto was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Jace Nihart was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Maseto wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Harmony Area kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Purchase Line was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 6-3 to Blacklick Valley.

Purchase Line saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Coby Byers, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. That run marked the first that Byers scored this season. Another was Devlan Kordish, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Harmony Area's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Purchase Line, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.

Purchase Line's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Harmony Area has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .433. It's a different story for Purchase Line, though, as they've only averaged .261. Will they be able to contain Harmony Area's hitters?
