Baseball Recap: Mount Ayr Now 7-1 over Last Eight Games

Mount Ayr proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by 13) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Bedford Bulldogs 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Raiders have posted since June 5th.

Mount Ayr has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Bedford, their loss ended a 12-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 23-6-1.

Coming up, Mount Ayr will venture away from home to face off against Lenox on Saturday. Bedford does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
